Obituary

Haverhill: Michael S. "Mickey" Stack Sr., 95 of Haverhill, died peacefully on Friday, March 27, 2015, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

A native and lifelong resident of Haverhill, he was the son of the late John and Sophie (Paz) Stachulski, and attended local schools including Haverhill High School. He served as a Surgical Technician and Private in the U.S. Army Air Corps during W.W.II and was a recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, The American Theater Medal and the W.W.II Victory Medal.

Following his honorable discharge from the service, Mr. Stack returned to Haverhill and was first employed by the Gingras Leather Co. and later as a baker at 20th Century Bakery and as a milkman for the former Wason-MacDonald Dairy. He was most recently employed as the senior custodian at Saint James School until his retirement. He was a member of All Saints Parish of Haverhill, the former Saint Michael's Parish and AmVets Post 147.

Mickey, as he was known to his family and friends, was often seen sporting his black Stetson and driving his shiny red Lebaron convertible around town. He knew how to have fun and make good use of every moment of his day; family cookouts around the pool, road trips with his wife and children to visit family in New York and California, fun family trips to Salisbury Beach, Canobie Lake Park and Carter's Ice Cream on warm summer nights. Above all, his wife and children came first. He attended every event and celebration for his children and grandchildren. As a devoted husband and father, he will be remembered most for the tremendous loved that he gave to his family each and every day.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of sixty-six years, Dolores G. (Fabrizio) Stack, his three sons and daughters-in-law, Michael S. and Maria Stack Jr. of Plaistow, Mark P. and Mona Stack of Haverhill and Dana J. Stack and Shirley Adams of Merrimac, his five daughters and his son-in-law, Christene D. and Bruce Thurston of Rexford, NY, Karen A. Ellsworth of Sacramento, CA, Janet A. Canney of Haverhill, Diane Shikrallah of Windham, NH and Donnamarie Stack of Haverhill, eleven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son-in-law Kenneth Shikrallah in 1995, his brothers, Joseph Stachulski, John Stack, Peter Stack, Edward Stack and sister, Nellie Quimby.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Life Celebration to be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Route 97, Haverhill. His funeral will be held on Thursday at 9:45 a.m. from the funeral home with a Blessing of the Body and Liturgy of the Word at 11a.m. in All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Avenue, Haverhill. Burial will follow in Saint Patrick's Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Veterans North East Outreach Center, 65 Cedar St., Haverhill, MA 01830.
