Ararat, NC; Michael A. Maynard 61, passed away on November 10, 2022.

Born in Beverly, Massachusetts November 15,1960. son to the late George and Cora (Marshall) Maynard, he was raised in Exeter, New Hampshire, graduating from Exeter High School, class of 1978. Following graduation, he proudly joined the United States Marine Corps and served from 1978-1982. When he returned home, he met, Susan. They settled in Kingston NH, where they started their family. Later moving to Ararat NC. Michael used his talents in the construction field and has happily been in traffic safety control for many years. He was most recently employed with Smith-Rowe Incorporated.

Michael was a true outdoorsman; he loved fishing and hunting, usually accompanied by one of his loving black labs. He also enjoyed caring for his beautiful property, especially when it involved using his tractor. Michael also loved giving back to his community and helped his fellow Marines with Toys -for-Tots every year locally.

Michael is sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 40 years, Susan (DeVito) Maynard of Port Orange, FL; three sons, Michael A. Maynard, Jr., and his wife, Jenni of Port Orange, FL, Stephen E. Maynard and his wife, Taylor and Douglas A. Maynard all of North Carolina; three grandchildren, Jacob, Justin, and Ezekiel; brother, George "Skip" Maynard; two sisters, Andrea and Tammy and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be held at Brookside Chapel and Funeral Home at 116 Main St, Plaistow, NH on Saturday, December 17, 2022, from 10am-1pm, followed by Military Honors. The family requests that memorial donations be made to a Toys for Tots drop off location of your choice.
