Haverhill, MA: Michael P. Lahaye, 65, of Haverhill died on August 3, 2015 at the Merrimack Valley Hospital after being stricken at his home.
Born, raised, and educated in Haverhill, son of Rita (LeClair) Lahey and the late Albert (Lahey) Lahaye, he attended Haverhill Public Schools. Mr. Lahaye served in the United States Navy from 1967 until his honorable discharge in 1971.
Mr. Lahaye was previously employed at Western Electric and Raytheon Company, retiring after twenty years of service. He was currently employed in the Maintenance Department for the Town of Methuen School Department for the past thirteen years.
A member of the Salem Bible Church, Mr. Lahaye enjoyed working in his yard, gardening, and going to the beach. He also enjoyed playing golf and was a member of the golf league at Hickory Hill Golf Course in Methuen.
He is survived by his wife of forty-five years, Dianne M. (Forte) Lahaye, a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis M. and Lisa Lahaye of Haverhill, two daughters, Michelle P. Lahaye of Haverhill, and Danielle M. Lahaye of Haverhill, his mother, Rita (LeClair) Lahey of Haverhill, a brother and sister-in-law, Albert J., Jr. and Pauline Lahaye of Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, a sister and brother-in-law, Sandra J. and Raymond "Joe" Butler of North Carolina, nine grandchildren, Jeremiah, Kristina, Kelsey, Alexandra, Jared, Nicholas, Evan, Jaiden, and Davian, a great granddaughter, Kailyn, several nieces and nephews, two aunts, and several cousins. He was predeceased by his sister, Lorraine R. Veltsos.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mr. Lahaye's Life Celebration on Friday, August 7 from 4 to 8 p.m. at BERUBE-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill. His funeral service will take place on Saturday, August 8 at 10 a.m. at the Salem Bible Church, 11 Ermer Road, Salem, NH followed by burial with Military Honors in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Haverhill.
