Obituary

Michael John DeSantis Jr, a resident of Plaistow for the past 40 years, passed away on September 6th, 2026 at the age of 86. He was married for 62 years to his beloved wife, Patricia (Jones), until her passing in 2025.

He took great pride in providing for his family and worked for Schneider Electric until his retirement in 2008. A capable and practical man, he especially enjoyed building and fixing things around the house.

He found pleasure in life’s familiar routines, including his morning coffee, reading the newspaper, and watching the news. Revere, Massachusetts, held a special place in his heart, as did Demaino’s Restaurant, which he had visited since childhood, when he would go there to get dough for his mother.

In 1992, he traveled to Italy to visit members of his extended family, a journey he greatly enjoyed.

He was the youngest child of Michael DeSantis, who was born in Italy in 1895, and Rose (Boccelli) DeSantis, who was born in 1901 in the municipality of Castelfranci, Province of Avellino, Italy.

He was predeceased by his sister, Mary DeSantis (Kwiatek), and his brothers, Louis DeSantis and Joey DeSantis. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

He is survived by his sons, Michael DeSantis and his wife Jennifer of Nottingham, New Hampshire, Robert DeSantis and his wife Amy of San Jose, California and Chris DeSantis of Revere, Massachusetts. He leaves behind his grandchildren, Sierras, Seth, Ash and Aiden as well as great-grandchildren, Trent and Keenan.

He will be best remembered for his devotion to his family, his skill with his hands, and the familiar sayings that reflected his hopeful and ready spirit: “Better days are coming” and “What do you say, kiddo—ready to hit the road?”

A private burial will be held by the family at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Luke the Evangelist Parish / Holy Angels Church; 8 Atkinson Depot Road, Plaistow, New Hampshire 03865 or by visiting https://stlukenh.org/parish-giving/
