Lawrence, MA: Michael A. Cavanaugh, 66, died December 18, 2011 at Lawrence General Hospital.

Son of the late Timothy A. and Sadie (Saulewicz) Cavanaugh, he was raised in Methuen and attended local schools. He was a 1963 graduate of Tenney Memorial High School.

Mr. Cavanaugh worked in maintenance at St. Francis Seminary in Andover before retiring in 2007 and previously was employed at General Iron and Aspen Tree Removal Service.

He was a member of Holy Rosary Church and the Concordia Club in Lawrence. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid NASCAR and football fan and was devoted to his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Helen (Rogon) Cavanaugh, two daughters and son-in-law Tammy K. and Darren Nelson of Fremont, NH and Jennifer M. Cavanaugh of Lawrence, one brother Timothy Cavanaugh of Lawrence, two sisters Rita Guillette and Eileen Breen both of Methuen; three grandchildren Marissa Cavanaugh, Chloe Nelson and Cody Nelson. He was predeceased by one sister Alice Hendricks and two brothers James Cavanaugh and William Cavanaugh.

Private family funeral services will be held at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill, MA with burial in St. Patrick Cemetery.
