Obituary

Atkinson, NH: Maureen (McDermott) Peck, 71, a resident of Atkinson for the last twenty-one years, died on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, with her beloved husband Robert by her side.

Born in Jersey City, NJ, daughter of the late John and Margaret (Donovan) McDermott, she was raised and educated in Jersey City and Ringwood and was a member of the DePaul High School Class of 1963. She later attended Seton Hall University in Paterson.

A resident of Oak Ridge, NJ from 1974 until 1996, Mrs. Peck enjoyed being a housewife and homemaker and was active raising her daughters while being a Girl Scout Leader and Softball coach. She served as President of the Jefferson Community Players, and was also an accomplished doll maker. She enjoyed traveling to Ireland to research her Irish heritage, and sharing songs with her lovely singing voice.

A woman who was known to possess a wonderful sense of humor, she enjoyed having fun and had an eclectic group of friends that she was always happy to entertain and dispense wisdom, kindness and encouragement.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of fifty-one years, Robert D. Peck, two daughters and sons-in-law, Kellan Peck and Eric Ristad of Princeton, NJ, and Norah E. Peck and Roy H. Mossi of Maywood, NJ, two grandchildren, Calvin Ristad and Sabine Ristad, three brothers, Kevin McDermott, of Ringwood, Dennis McDermott of Garden City, Long Island, and Brian McDermott of New York, a sister Margaret McDermott of Cary, NC and several nieces and nephews.
