Atkinson – Maureen E. Culliford 79, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.

Born September 26, 1942, daughter to the late Joseph and Alma (Richard) Hamel and the late Erilda "Dora" (Blais) Hamel. She was raised and educated in Lawrence, Massachusetts and was a graduate of Saint Anne's High School. Maureen worked as a secretary and buyer for many years at Western Electric and later Lucent before her retirement.

Maureen enjoyed her shopping and lunch trips with her close friends and family and catching up with those who couldn't join her adventures, on the phone. She was a proud homemaker and enjoyed making sure her home was spotless. Above all, spending time with her loving family was most important.

Maureen is survived by her loving husband, Roger of 48 years; Son Paul Nerney and his wife, Carol of Manchester; two daughters, BethLee O'Neil and her husband, Michael of Warren and Meredith Corso and her husband, Chuck of Kingston; Five grandchildren, Tristan, Tyler, Erin, Mathew and MirandaLee and her husband, Matthew; great-grandson, Kye Lee; sister, Doris Proposki and her husband, Lenny of Dracut, Ma. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brother, Russell Hamel and his wife, Nancy.

Relatives and friends are invited call Wednesday, January 5, 2022, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 6 at 10:30 a.m. in Saint Anne's Church, Emerson Avenue, Hampstead, NH. Burial will be in the family lot at Atkinson Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Saint Anne's Church.
