Dover – Matthew C. Gittings, 39, lost his hard fought battle with addiction on Monday June 12, 2023 at his home.

Born June 21, 1983 in Newburyport, MA he was the son of Eric and Corinne (Schwartz) Gittings.

Matt had most recently worked as a machine operator at Turbocam in Barrington, NH. He was a true fan of music, listening to everything from classical music to death metal. He earned his associates degree in sound engineering and was a gifted musician and song writer. He played in several bands and preferred listening to music on vinyl over any digital format. Matt owned his own recording studio in Kingston NH, Opal Sound Studios, where he recorded many bands as well his own music under his record label North Cabin Enterprises. He also loved animals and spending time outdoors. His biggest joy was spending quality time with little Matt.

Members of his family include his parents Eric and Corinne (Schwartz) Gittings of East Kingston, NH; his sister Hallie Gallant and husband Peter of Newton, NH; his girlfriend Kelly Demaris and son Matty of North Berwick, ME; his paternal grandmother Gladys Gittings Smith of Sandown, NH; his god parents Liz and Bill Flannery of Beaverton, OR; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was predeceased by his brother Joe Gittings, his maternal grandparents Walter and Florence Schwartz, and his paternal grandfather Raymond Gittings.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
