Danville – Mary Anne Stewart, 79, died Wednesday March 15, 2023 at Exeter Hospital following a period of failing health.

Born February 3, 1944 in Waltham, MA she was the daughter of the late Daniel P. and Anna (Penttila) Barry.

She worked as an inspector for Raytheon for many years. Mary Anne enjoyed quilting and sewing. She loved animals, camping, and the outdoors. She also loved an adventure, at the age of 29, she and her 16 year old brother set out in her 1967 Plymouth from Massachusetts to Alaska for the adventure of a life time. Although she had no children of her own, you were more likely to find her playing with the kids than talking to the adults at any gathering. She had a love of the Beach Boys and attended several concerts with her husband Dan.

Members of her family include her siblings, Gail Hydrick and husband Everette of North Augusta, SC; Susan Leblanc and husband James of Salem, MA; Jean Smith of Hamden, CT; John Barry and wife Nancy of Epping, NH; Michael Barry and wife Sarah of Northwood, NH; Sally Gagnon and husband Simeon of Epping, NH; and Sandra Morrissey and husband Daniel of Beverly, MA; many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Daniel Stewart, and her brother Daniel P. Barry, Jr.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday March 22, 2023 at 12 PM in the Brookside Chapel and Funeral Home, 116 Main St. Plaistow, NH.

Burial will take place in the West Hampstead Cemetery at a later date.
