Mary "Marie"
Marzioli
June 30, 1934 – November 13, 2024
Haverhill: Mary R. "Marie" (Dirago) Marzioli, 90, a native and lifelong resident of Haverhill, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2024, at Baker-Katz Nursing Home in Haverhill, surrounded by her loving family.
The daughter of the late Vincent and Mary (Perrault) Dirago, she attended local schools and graduated from Haverhill High School with the Class of 1952. As a young woman, Marie enjoyed roller skating and taking part in her school band as a majorette.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Marie's life revolved around her family and their shared interests. She enjoyed creating a warm and loving home for her husband and children. She served as a Girl Scout Leader for her daughters and earned the nickname "Smokey" because of her campfire expertise. She was also involved in local theatre productions with her family. When her children were grown, Marie went back to school and earned her associate's degree in liberal arts from Northern Essex Community College.
Marie was a longtime member of Saint John the Baptist Parish of Haverhill and was a volunteer at the former Hale Hospital in Haverhill. She enjoyed participating in mixed doubles bowling as well as playing tennis with her husband, Al, at Cedardale. Marie and Al also enjoyed traveling together across the country completing visits to all fifty United States and the southern provinces of Canada with Marie as the navigator on the CB with the handle "Yellow Rose". After years of travel, Marie and Al settled in as snowbirds at their second home in Florida. They often spent time strolling together through Disney World.
Predeceased in 2020 by her loving husband of sixty-eight years, Alfred C. Marzioli, Jr, and her daughter Carla E. Marzioli in 1966, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by five daughters, Beverly A. Marzioli of Haverhill, Karen M. Marzioli of Haverhill, Susan J.
