Obituary

Sandown, NH: Mary T. (Hynds) Lewis, 83, a former longtime resident of Sandown, died September 13, 2018 in Tewksbury, MA.

Born in Somerville, MA, and raised in the Allston section of Boston, she was the daughter of the late John and Annie (Coyle) Hynds and attended St. Columbkille High School in Brighton.

A longtime resident of Allston before moving to Sandown in 1982, Mrs. Lewis was employed as a Staff Assistant at Baker 20, of the Baker Library of Harvard University Business School. She enjoyed her long association with the school and was a member of the Harvard Faculty Club.

A former member of Saint Anne's Parish of Hampstead, Mrs. Lewis was first and foremost a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed making a warm and inviting home for her family. She also enjoyed boating on Angle Pond and being a wintertime resident of Clearwater, Florida for many years.

Predeceased by her husband Alexander F. "Louie" Lewis, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by two sons and daughters-in-law, John F. and Linda Lewis of Stoneham, MA, and Michael A. and Michelle Lewis of Plaistow, a daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Chad Dresser of Plaistow, eight grandchildren, Jacob Lewis, Taylor John Lewis, Cole Dresser, Brad Lewis, Carrie Dresser, Alex Lewis, Rose Lewis and Ryan Lewis, a brother Edward Hynds of Bellingham, MA, a sister, Ann Paino of Campton, and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by brothers, John Hynds, Michael "Joe" Hynds, Henry Hynds, Robert Hynds, and George Hynds, and a sister Frances Hynds.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday, September 17, 2018 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. Her Funeral will begin Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 in Saint Anne's Church, Emerson Avenue, Hampstead, NH. Burial will follow in Center Cemetery in Sandown. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverly Road, Waltham, MA, 02452.
