Haverhill, MA: Mary Catherine "Kay" (Costello) Bergeron passed away on the evening on March 4, 2016 at Holy Family Hospital at Merrimack Valley surrounded by her loving family. She was 82.

A lifelong resident of Haverhill, Kay was born on May 29, 1933, the eldest daughter of Walter Costello and Mary (Hayden) Costello. A graduate of St. James Elementary and High Schools, Kay went on to work at Western Electric on Locust St. in Haverhill where she met the love of her life and husband of 61 years, Adrian Raymond "Ray" Bergeron. Ray and Kay were married at St. James Church on July 17, 1954 and had two children, Thomas Bergeron of Los Angeles and Maureen (Bergeron) Vallieres of Haverhill. Following her time at Western Electric, Kay also worked at Market Basket and as a teacher's aide in the Haverhill School District, where she was a wonderful and positive influence on the lives of the many children she met.

In addition to being a proud mother, she was a loving grandparent to her four granddaughters, Katherine Seaver of Danville, NH, Allyson Vallieres of Haverhill, Jessica Harmon Bergeron and Samantha Harmon Bergeron of Los Angeles. Kay also enjoyed visiting with and spoiling her two great-grandchildren, Jackson Seaver and Maggie Seaver of Danville, NH.

Kay loved spending time with those that meant the most to her. She enjoyed summer vacations at Goose Rocks Beach with her husband, children and siblings, chatting with friends at the local beauty parlor, and lounging by the pool and playing games with her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all of those that knew and loved her.

In addition to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Kay is survived by her daughter-in-law Lois Harmon of Los Angeles and son-in-law Michael Vallieres of Haverhill, grand-son-in-law Christopher Seaver of Danville, NH and her 4 siblings; Joanne Skofield of York, ME, Robert Costello of East Kingston, NH, Sheila Francis of Groveland and Patricia Behan of Haverhill.

A private service will be held with family. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to consider making a donation to the Merrimack Valley Hospice House, 360 North Avenue, Haverhill, MA 01830.
