Obituary

Mary Lou (Kimball) Hahn, 91, a longtime resident of Plaistow, died September 30, 2020, at Merrimack Valley Hospice Hospice in Haverhill.


Born in Haverhill, daughter of the late Carl W. and Clara E. (Anderson) Kimball, she graduated Haverhill High School with the class of 1947. She was employed for many years as the secretary of the Music and Athletic Departments of Timberlane Regional High School, retiring in 1994.


Mrs. Hahn was a member of the Kingston Congregational Church and Fidelity Chapter of the Massachusetts Order of the Eastern Star, Haverhill. She was an accomplished seamstress and also enjoyed quilting and knitting, donating many of her handmade items to Newborns in Need and Homeless Veterans. An avid reader and Red Sox fan, Mrs. Hahn enjoyed spending her retirement years with her late husband, Robert at their home on Tuftonboro Neck, along Lake Winnipesaukee. She also enjoyed music, dining out, watching the Hallmark Channel and spending time watching her great-grandsons Ben and Ross play sports.


She was predeceased in February of 2000, by her beloved husband of 45 years, Robert O. Hahn, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter Carlene "Carli" (Sarty) Malette and her husband David Malette of Plaistow; a grandson, Christopher W. Sarty and his wife, Cheri Apar-Sarty of Plaistow; and great-grandsons, Benjamin and Ross. She was also known as "Grammie" by Lance Malette, Carissa Malette and Brooklyn and Hayden; and was predeceased by her brother, Edward W. Kimball.


A private family graveside service was held on Saturday, October 3, 2020, in Hillside Cemetery in Haverhill, under the direction of Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow. The family requests that memorial donations be made to Boston Children's Hospital, 300 Longwood Avenue, Boston, MA 02115.
