Obituary

Newton, NH: Mary Anne Hadwen 65, passed away peacefully Thursday, December 2, 2021 with her loving daughter and son-in-law by her side.

Born in Norfolk, Virginia, on January 9, 1956 daughter to the late Randy and Jean Stolt.  She had a Bachelor's degree from Colby Sawyer College in Medical Technology and worked many years as a Laboratory Technician for various hospitals.  She was a selfless loving homemaker while her children were young and returned to her professional field in 2002 when her children had grown.  She retired from York Hospital this past October.

Mary Anne was a longtime member of the Southern Maine Guild of Spinners & Weavers, having been past president and past vice president. She was a talented weaver, spinner, crocheter and knitter having gone so far as to raise her own sheep and dye her own wool.  She loved her farm, animals and all plants.    She had a passion for the arts and was a frequent supporter of the Portland Symphony Orchestra.  In her later years Mary Anne enjoyed traveling and worldwide exploring.  Above all, spending time with her family were her most cherished times.

Mary Anne is survived by her two daughters, Katie May and Sandra Jane; son, John Emmet; and five dearly loved grandchildren, Madalyn, Greer, Rue, Charlize and Rory; Brother, Tim and sister, Nancy.

A celebration of life will be held in the Spring.
