White River Junction, VT: Mary Elaine (Litwinovich) Douglas, 65, of White River Junction, died at her home on August 16, 2018. Born in Haverhill, MA, the daughter of the late Robert and Mary (Keefe) Litwinovich. Mary was raised in Bradford and attended St. James High School as a member of the Class of 1970, the last class to graduate from there. She then attended Merrimack College earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1974.
Mary was a devoted home maker and mother to her three children. Ten years ago she moved to White River Junction where she enjoyed being a volunteer in counseling services. Mary also loved animals, hiking, or just being outdoors. In her younger years, she routinely played tennis and more recently she cherished time spent with her four grandchildren.
Mary will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her son, Craig Douglas and his wife, Kara of Harpswell, ME, daughters, Erica Compagnone and her husband, Gino of Chester, NH, and Kathryn Douglas of Medford, MA, brothers, Robert Litwinovich and his wife, Alice of Newton, NH, John Litwinovich and his wife, Cheri of Placerville, CA, her Aunt, Joanne Willett and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by the father of her children, Wayne Douglas.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mary's Life Celebration which will begin on Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at 8:30 AM from the Brookside Chapel and Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Plaistow, NH, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10 AM in Mary Mother of the Church of St. Luke the Evangelist Parish, Newton, NH. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Haverhill, MA.
A reception will be held at the Roma Restaurant, 29 Middlesex St., Bradford, MA, immediately following the commital service.
