Atkinson, NH:  Mary-Ann B. Chaffet, 79, a resident of Atkinson, died peacefully on June 28, 2025 at High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill surrounded by her loving and supportive family. Born in New London, Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late Sydney and Thelma (Rodd) Butson. She was raised in Noank, CT and whose family were longtime members of the Noank Baptist Church. Mary-Ann received her bachelor's degree from The University of Maine.  She was a well-loved and respected teacher in several schools in the CT shoreline area. At the time of her retirement, Mary-Ann was a home economics teacher at Guilford (CT) High School where they lived.

A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Mary-Ann, affectionately called Mia to those closest to her, cherished time spent with her family and longtime friends. An avid reader, she was also an accomplished cook, enjoyed playing Mahjong and caring for her dogs.  Whether living in New Hampshire or Florida, Mia took pleasure in bringing people together. She loved planning parties and social gatherings for all to celebrate.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her loving husband of 50 years, Robert G. Chaffet, a daughter and son-in-law Julie and Matt DeGrandpre of Atkinson, NH, a daughter Betsy R. Chaffet of Tampa, Florida, a sister Jane Webster of Mystic, two granddaughters, Ava and Lyla, a niece, Sarah Webster and two nephews Andrew and Peter Webster.

Her funeral service and burial will take place on August 5th at 10 AM at the Noank Baptist Church, 18 Cathedral Heights, Noank, CT. Arrangements are under the direction of Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Plaistow, NH.
