Haverhill, Ma: Mark E. Duval 53, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Mass General Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Born January 28, 1969, he was raised and educated in Haverhill and earned his Bachelor's in Science from UMASS Lowell. He began his research career in HIV and was published for his work. He was extremely proud and passionate about his research, and contributions to the science and healthcare communities. He ended his career in Cancer research at 2Seventy Bio in Cambridge, Ma.

Mark enjoyed traveling, drawing and a good wordsearch. He was an avid Boston Sports fan, keeping track of the latest games.  Above all he enjoyed spending time with those he loved. He will be remembered most for his sense of humor and living life the way he wanted.  His strength, pride, courage and determination kept him going through many challenges.  He was an inspiration to all who knew him.

Mark is survived by his loving wife, Michelle (Boucher) Duval, two children, Kyle Duval and Emily Duval both of Haverhill; his devoted father, Roland Duval and his wife, Donna and his mother Natalie (Ladebush) Cahill all of Haverhill, Ma; a sister, Laurie Larsen and her husband John of Tewksbury, a brother Roland Duval and his wife, Andrea of Haverhill, three stepchildren, Celena Di Tore, Jordan Di Tore and Tanner Augusta along with many loving nieces and nephews.

Relative and friends are invited to Mark's Life Celebration to be held on Friday, March 25, 2022, from 10am to 12:00pm at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. His funeral service will follow at 12:15pm in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill, MA. In lieu of flowers Mark requested that memorial donations be made in his name to ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (national office) 4550 Montgomery Ave. Suite 1100 N Bethesda, MD 20814.
