Haverhill: Marion (Gullo) Dunphy, 94, a longtime resident of the Bradford section, and a lifelong resident of the City of Haverhill, died Sunday morning, March 29, 2015 at her home, surrounded by family, following a long illness.
Daughter of the late Vito and Faustina (Carubba) Gullo, she graduated Haverhill High School with the Class of 1939 and was employed for many years as a Crystal Room Technician at Western Electric Co. and A T & T Technologies.
A member of the former Saint Rita's Parish of Haverhill, she was also a member of the Communication Workers of America, Local 1365 and was an animal enthusiast. She enjoyed ballroom dancing, cooking, baking and entertaining her large extended family.
The wife of the late Lynwood "Jerry" Dunphy, she was also predeceased by her brothers, Valentino Gullo and James Gullo and sisters Viola Gallant and Constance Mazzaglia and by her longtime companion, Lawrence Gillis. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law Mary F. Gullo of Atkinson, NH and many nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours and a private family gathering and time of remembrance will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack St., Lawrence, MA, or to Salem Animal Rescue League, 4 SARL Drive, Salem, NH.
