Obituary

Kingston, NH: Marie E. (Ahearn) Lessard, 71, a resident of the Town of Kingston for the last forty-three years, died peacefully at her home on June 10, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Herbert and Rita (Boyle) Ahearn, she was raised in Chelmsford.  As a graduate of Chelmsford High School, Marie later received her certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse from Holden Health and Career Center at the age of 57.

Employed as an LPN for fifteen years at Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood, NH, she was a devoted and respected nurse to the many residents that she cared for during her long career. Previously Marie had worked for many years as a school bus driver for the Sanborn Regional School District.

A longtime member of Saint Luke the Evangelist Parish at Mary Mother of the Church in Newton NH, Marie was an avid reader, who also enjoyed hiking, gardening, quilting, and trips to the ocean. She especially loved traveling, visiting Ireland, Italy, Spain, and many parts of the US including Alaska.  Marie was totally devoted to her family and enjoyed the frequent times she shared with them, and lived her motto: "Enjoy life and what you have".

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of fifty-two years, Brian F. Lessard, a son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Daphne (Foran) Lessard of Bow, NH, two daughters, Kimberly A. Lessard of San Francisco, CA, and Danielle M. Lessard and her husband Francisco Santiago Gonzalez of Eliot, ME, two brothers, John T. "Tim" Ahearn of Hampton, NH, and Bernard Ahearn of Farmington, NH, two sisters, Rita Zappelli of Pepperell, MA, and Mary Lou Prescott, of Chelmsford, MA, four grandchildren, Madeline and Katie Lessard and Sebastian and Daniel Santiago-Lessard, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters: Joan Simpson, Barbara Gagnon, Regina Oteri, Gail Thompson, Patricia Karl, and brothers: James, Herbert, Edward, Frederick and Daniel Ahearn.

Relatives and friends are invited to Marie's Life Celebration to be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. Her funeral will begin on Thursday, June 17, at 8:45 a.m. at the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Mary Mother of the Church of Saint Luke the Evangelist Parish in Newton, NH.
