Hampstead, NH: Mable K. (Veland) Van Patten, 82, of Hampstead, NH, and formerly of Phoenix, AZ and Everett, WA, died on Thursday, April 4, 2013, at her home.
Born in Everett, WA, daughter of the late Magnus and Katherine (Sampson) Veland, she was raised and educated in Everett, WA and attended Everett High School. She worked as a Clerical Administrative Assistant for Osselaer Property Management in Phoenix, AZ.
A resident of Hampstead, NH since 2001, she volunteered her time as a teacher's aid in the Hampstead Central School System for the past eleven years as a member of the Foster Grandparents' Program and recently received an "Outstanding Service Award" from Governor Lynch.
The widow of the late Norman Van Patten, who died in 2000, she is survived by a son, Donald Van Patten of Hampstead, two grandchildren, Justin Van Patten of Colorado Springs, CO and Dylan Van Patten of Plaistow; a brother, Melvin Veland of Richland, WA, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Art Veland.
