March 17, 1937 – January 31, 2020
Hampstead, NH: M. Patricia (Waitkevitch) Smith, 82, of Hampstead, died peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, January 31, 2020.
Born and raised in Methuen, MA, she was the daughter of the late Anton and Anna (Boda) Waitkevitch. She attended Methuen High School and was a member of the graduating Class of 1954.
Pat worked at Western Electric and later went back to school to become an LPN. She graduated in May of 1963 and was given the award of excellence as the outstanding member of her class. After numerous years of nursing and raising her children she returned to Western Electric for more than a decade. Later in life Pat ran one of the franchised locations of Mr. Rent a Car/Mr. Lease a Car and finished her career at Auto-Use.
In her younger years Pat enjoyed traveling, tennis, bowling, cross country skiing and snowmobiling. After the passing of her husband, she loved the company and comfort of her different cats over the years. Her greatest love, however, was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, whom were her pride and joy. She loved to laugh and spread joy to those around her.
Pat will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughters, Kimberly Mackie of Danville, NH, and Sandra Naugler and her husband Robert of Newburyport, MA, granddaughters, Morgan Mackie of Danville, NH and Katelyn Masello and her husband Anthony of Plaistow, NH. She was predeceased by her husband, Wilbur H. Smith, Jr., and brothers Robert and Joseph Waitkevitch.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, February 12, 2020, from 4 PM to 7 PM at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2020, at 11 AM in the funeral home. A private burial will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pat's memory to the ASPCA.
