Salisbury, MA: Lucille O. Ratte, 90, of Salisbury Beach since 1967 and formerly of Methuen and Lawrence, died on December 8, 2014 at Port Healthcare Center in Newburyport.
Born in Lawrence, MA, daughter of the late William G. and Olivette I. (Bruneault) Ratte, she attended St. Anne's Grammar School and graduated from Putnam Catholic Academy in Putnam, CT.
At the time of her retirement in 1981, Ms. Ratte was employed as a supervisor in the coil winding department at Western Electric Company with twenty-eight years of service. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Ms. Ratte had also been employed at the Arlington Mills and as a tax preparer for the H&R Block Company.
A longtime active member of Star of the Sea Parish of Salisbury, she served on numerous Parish committees and worked on several programs, including as an instructor in the Religious Education Program. Ms. Ratte was a former member of St. Theresa Parish in Methuen, where she served on the Parish Council and as a high school Religious Education instructor.
A member of the American-Canadian Genealogical Society and "Les Descendants de Jacques Rate Inc." of Quebec, Canada, she gave her time as a volunteer and coordinator for the Tax Aid Program of AARP. A full time resident and member of the Salisbury Beach community for the last thirty-seven years, Ms. Ratte also enjoyed several pilgrimages to Rome, Lourdes, and the Holy Lands.
She was predeceased by her brother, Lucien Ratte, and her sister, Lillian Lalonde, and is survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Monday, December 15, 2015 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Star of the Sea Church, Salisbury, MA. Her Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. in the Church with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Haverhill. Arrangements are under the direction of Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill, MA.
