IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Louis A.
Sanville
April 4, 1941 – May 8, 2021
Louis A. Sanville, 80, passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2021 peacefully at home surrounded by his family after a battle with cancer.
Born in Methuen, MA, he was the son of the late Louis V. Sanville and Florence (Towne) Sanville. Lou attended Sacred Heart School in Bradford, MA and later Saint Mary's Boys High when his parents relocated to Salem, MA. Following high school, Lou enlisted in the military and proudly served in the Seventh Army of the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany. After serving his country, Lou obtained his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Bentley University. While attending Bentley University and working part-time at Stop & Shop, Lou met Ruth; his wife of 54 years.
Lou began his professional career at Northeast Airlines before becoming the Business Administrator at Northeast Regional Metropolitan Vocational High School in Wakefield, MA. He later became the Business Administrator at Whittier Regional Vocational High School in Haverhill, MA until his retirement in 2004. During his professional career, Lou was recognized for his dedication and was well respected by his colleagues.
Lou started his family in Peabody, MA before moving to Plaistow, NH in 1986 where he took great pride in meticulously maintaining his home and yard. Although he was never satisfied, his lawn was the envy of the neighborhood. Lou was a tireless worker who put his full heart into everything he did, whether it was sanding down and painting a radiator or running a sub 20-minute 5K in his early 50s as a novice runner. More than anything, he loved his family. Lou took great joy in becoming a grandfather of five, and was lovingly referred to as Papa Lou. His perfect day would have him hosting family, ensuring no one's glass went half-empty, manning the grill and ending the night with a game of 45's.
He will be deeply missed by all of his friends and family, including his loving wife, Ruth (Burke) Sanville, daughter, Karen Ann (Sanville) Young and her husband, Kevin Young of Hampstead, NH, son, Robert Louis Sanville and his wife, Jessica Sanville of North Reading, MA. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Collin, Ryan and Aidan Young, and Evelyn and Miles Sanville. He also leaves behind his brother, Ronald Sanville and his wife, Rita Sanville of Haverhill, MA and several nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by his brother, Alan and his late wife, Dorothy Sanville.
