Obituary


Lorraine C. (Lajoie) Rossetti, 77, of Haverhill, died Saturday, December 31, 2011 at her home, surrounded by her loving family, after a long illness.

Born in Haverhill, daughter of the late Elphege and Yvonne (Chapdelaine) Lajoie, she attended local schools and was first employed at Brentwood Lounge Furniture Co. She later worked at Raytheon and Compugraphic and finally Lucent Technologies, from where she retired.

A member of All Saints Parish and the former St. Joseph Parish, Mrs. Rossetti was a loving wife and a devoted mother and friend to her children and was especially proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed dancing, cooking, sewing, bingo and always looked forward to craft night with her daughters.

The wife of the late Paul A. Rossetti, who died in 1983, she is survived by her six daughters and her sons-in-law, Linda and Michael Stella of Brownfield, ME, Kathleen and Stephen Murphy of Laconia, NH, Donna Soucy of Amesbury, Maria and Joseph Parker of Haverhill, Paula and Kevin Myers of Haverhill, and Renee and Bill Walker of Bradford, ten grandchildren, Christopher Ingham, Andrea Comeau, Laurie (Comeau) Wilkins and her husband Creig, Paul Soucy and his wife Desiree, Patrick Soucy, Bryan Parker, Jennifer (Myers) Begin and her husband Nick, John Coppola, Danielle Coppola and Trey Walker, six great-grandchildren, Anthony Barker, Zachary Soucy, Peyton Soucy, Ellamarie Soucy, Julianna Soucy and Ty Soucy, a brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Gloria Lajoie, of Salem, NH, sisters and brother-in-law, Theresa Battis of Springvale, ME, Peggy (Palmieri) and Bill Mikesell of Florida, and Helen Powell of North Chelmsford, a special friend Richard Bilodeau of Haverhill and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Jeannette Groves, Anita Fecteau, and brothers, Robert, Bernard, Paul and Donald Lajoie.

Relatives and friends may call on Thursday, January 5, 2012, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill. Her funeral will be held on Friday at 9 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in All Saints Church. Burial will follow in Saint Patrick Cemetery. Donations may be made to Merrimack Valley Hospice 360 Merrimack St., Lawrence, MA or to The American Cancer Society.
