Lorraine M. (DeMattia) Principe, 93, of Haverhill, died on Thursday, April 22, 2021, at Wingate of Haverhill.

Born and raised in East Boston, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Gaeta) DeMattia and was a graduate of Girls Trade School in Boston. Lorraine worked at Carver Dress in Boston for five years before staying home to raise her children.

Lorraine was kindhearted and loved to laugh. She was fiercely independent and very loyal. Her love, strength, determination, vision, encouragement, wisdom, and guidance were the glue that held her family together through all of life's ups and downs. Lorraine loved spending time with her family, vacationing in New Hampshire, sewing, baking pies, drinking coffee, watching her soap operas ("stories"), and discovering the latest and greatest gadget on QVC.

Lorraine will always be remembered in the hearts of her family; her daughter, Karen Conti of Kingston, NH, her granddaughters, Nicole Lemire and her husband, Robert of Manchester, NH, Christina Swanberry and her husband, Andrew of Farmington, NH, her great grandchildren, Lucille and Vivian Swanberry, and expected Baby Boy Lemire, her nephews, William DeMattia of Sanford, ME, and Alan DiMattia of Sweeden. Lorraine was predeceased by her brother, William "Bill" DeMattia, her sister, Marie Bianchi, and her former husband, Frank Principe.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at 9 am on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH, following the guidelines of wearing a facemask and social distancing. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am in St. Anne's Church, 26 Emerson Avenue, Hampstead, NH. Burial to follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Kingston, NH.
