Obituary

Haverhill, MA: Lorna Z. (Jacques) Cormier, 90, a resident of Haverhill since 1998, died peacefully on Saturday, October 12, 2019, at Hannah Duston Healthcare Center, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Lynn, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Philippe and Zela (LeBlanc) Jacques. Lorna graduated Merrimac High School with the Class of 1946 and worked for the Sprague Electric Company in Sanford Maine as a loom operator, before her retirement in 1990.

Mrs. Cormier was a member of All Saints Parish of Haverhill. She was devoted to her faith and recited the Rosary daily. She was the loving wife of the late John Cormier, who passed just a few short months ago, and the proud mother of six children. She loved to garden, sew, crochet, knit, and sketch. She also loved music and took great pleasure in playing the piano and dancing with John, and was a big fan of the Boston sports teams, particularly the Red Sox. She also enjoyed reading romance novels, and always looked forward to playing cards on Saturday nights with friends.

Lorna will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her three sons, John J. Cormier, Jr and his wife Kathy of Pilot Mountain, NC, Michael W. Cormier of Minot, ME, and Philip C. Cormier of Winston-Salem, NC, three daughters, Lorna P. Allen and her husband, Paul of North Reading, MA, Audrey H. Clark of Groveland, MA, and Ann M. Lambert of Winston-Salem, NC, two brothers, Norman Jacques of Killington, CT, two sisters, Marie Price of Bradford, MA and Rita Brann and her husband Paul, of Southington, CT, eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of sixty-eight years, John Cormier and brothers, Philip, Henry, and Glen Jacques.

Relative and friends are invited to attend Mrs. Cormier's Life Celebration to be held on Wednesday evening, October 16, 2019, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill, MA.  Her funeral will be held on Thursday morning at 9 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in All Saints Church in Haverhill, MA.
