Born April 29, 1942 of Gloucester, MA she was the daughter of the late Herbert Wennerberg, and Lillian (Grant) Wennerberg. Lola held an extensive career at Delta Airlines, where she was employed firstly as a NorthEast Airlines employee; eventually acquired by Delta Airlines where
She had worked as a Supervisor of Reservations for nearly 48 years.
In her spare time Lola loved gardening, & especially favored her "Secret Garden" she brilliantly tended on the most eastern part of her property. Her "secret garden" still lovingly is admired with her 6 foot flagstone retaining walls, her park benches & the cascade of perennial flowers & trees planted throughout the 45 years that she tended to them.
Lola and her husband Joseph traveled worldwide over the span of decades, and was always inspired to share the many details of architecture of the vast many countries & cities she traveled to. In addition to her world traveling; she was also a talented seamstress creating most of the window treatments & fabrications that anointed her wallpapered walls, that were appreciated & by regarded with high praise by most professional wallpaper installation professionals.
Lola was famously known for her endearing words of encouragement & her catchy phrase; "Make sure you stop & smell the roses!"
Lola knew no stranger & loved engaging in conversations with really anyone; & learning of their life experiences & all the things that made someone "whom they became throughout their life". Lola could read 2-3 books in one day & often would be captivated by the knowledge she attained reading her favorite romance novels; to do it yourself catalogs & often you found her surrounded by the vast archives of her ancestors birth certificates & birth registrations & her passion to create that ancestral tree prior to the applications we all use today. Her passion to create this ancestral tree brought her to many a city hall, many church record keeping offices & she spent a majority of years collecting all of the pieces of her family origins & their vast explorations. Lola was the daughter & granddaughter of Sea Captains & sadly lost her father; Herbert Wennerberg In a boating accident; "The Idol Hour" off of Cape Ann when she was only 11 months old. The fisherman's wives memorial; erected in Gloucester MA was a special place to her & she proudly smiled seeing her mothers name recognizing her mother Lillian & the strength she possessed as a widow; of a Fisherman's Wife, raising 3 young children alone all under the age of 5 years old.
