Obituary

Newburyport: Lois K. (Fenton) Benger, 87, of Atkinson, NH, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2019 at Avita of Newburyport.

She was born in 1931 and raised on a small family-owned farm in Frederic Wisconsin. She was the daughter of WW1 veteran John Fenton and his wife Katherine (Johnson) Fenton, along with her siblings, Clarence, Floyd, and Robert, and Beverly, Dorothy, and Marie.

Lois grew up understanding the value of hard work and family. She loved her family more than anything and was the proud mother of four boys. She poured her heart and soul into raising them and building a home filled with laughter along with her husband of fifty-six years, Alan Benger.

Lois and Alan were both active in the Lutheran Church and throughout her life she also enjoyed running and tending to her flower gardens.

Professionally, she was instrumental in establishing the Kimi Nichols Center in Plaistow, NH and for over twenty-five years was a respected and loving caregiver at the center.

Predeceased by her husband, Alan D. Benger, Lois will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all those she touched throughout the years, especially by her four sons and their families; John and Sharon Benger of Lexington, NC, Stu and Beth Benger of Hull, MA, Bill Benger of Scarborough, ME, and Daniel and Karen Benger of Methuen, MA., thirteen grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren,

A memorial service will be held for Lois Benger in late July. In leu of flowers a donation can be made to the Alzheimer's Association of NH, 166 S River Rd #210, Bedford, NH 03110, or by visiting www.alz.org
