Obituary

Linda Jean (Carter) Gould, 66, a resident of Hampstead NH for over 30 years passed away October 3, 2026, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital in Portsmouth NH surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of Robert Gould with whom she shared 38 years of marriage. She was just two weeks shy of her 39th anniversary.

She was born July 12, 1960 in Haverhill MA and was the daughter of Brenda (Finnigan) Chase and the late Herbert C Chase. Linda was raised and educated in Haverhill MA. After graduation she began what would come to be her lifetime career at New England Telephone retiring in 2023.

She lived a life full of energy always busying herself with doing things for family and others. She had a deep passion and joy for gardening outside and inside her home, tending to her numerous plants that will be a constant memory of her love that will always live on. She had a fine art of creating her own style of picture frames. She never missed a holiday to decorate her home. Over the years she had hosted many family gatherings that we will forever cherish. She had a great sense of humor to those who knew her well. She was always filled with advice or just there to go on a walk with. Summers were filled with boat rides, tubing, fishing, and just enjoying life with family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love and beautiful memories.

Besides her husband Bob, Linda is survived by siblings; Frank A. Carter and his wife Kimberly of Fremont NH, Kimberley M. and Robert Dufresne of Hampstead NH, Herbert C Chase Jr, and Aisha of Haverhill MA. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Predeceased by brother; Michael W. Carter, grandmother; her beloved Nana Delilah Cadorette

Her funeral service and interment at Lakeview Cemetery, Hampstead NH will be held privately. Arrangements are under the direction of Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home,116 Main St, Plaistow, NH.
