Linda May
Coyle
Aug 16, 1941 — Oct 17, 2026
Atkinson, New hampshire
Linda May Coyle, 86, of Atkinson, New Hampshire, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a loving legacy of family, faith, hard work, and service. Born in Methuen, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of John W. McCarthy Jr. and Ceceil McCarthy (Beaulieu). Linda grew up in Andover, Massachusetts, and graduated from Andover High School with the Class of 1958. Throughout her life, she held numerous positions, but she took special pride in her work at Digital Equipment Corporation in Andover, from which she retired. Above all, Linda devoted herself to raising her three children, Christopher, Donna, and Timothy. Through her example, she taught them the value of hard work and instilled in them a strong work ethic that continues to inspire them today.
Linda found great joy in books and was an avid reader throughout her life. She belonged to many book clubs and thoughtfully kept a journal of the titles she read, creating a treasured record of the stories and ideas that touched her along the way.
With an adventurous spirit and a genuine curiosity about the world, Linda traveled widely throughout the United States and abroad. She treasured the sights and experiences of China, Africa, Ireland, Portugal, Alaska, and many other destinations, carrying those memories with her throughout her life.
Family was at the heart of Linda’s life, and she treasured every opportunity to share in the things they loved. She wholeheartedly supported their equestrian way of life and, despite her allergies, always found room in her heart and home for a foster pet or two for Donna. Linda also deeply valued her circle of friends, faithfully nurturing those relationships and making every effort to stay connected with the people she cared about.
Linda’s Catholic faith was a guiding presence in her life and inspired her heartfelt commitment to serving others. Her generosity and devotion to her community touched many lives, and in recognition of her extraordinary volunteerism, she was honored with the key to the Town of Atkinson.
Linda will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her children, Christopher Coyle and his wife, Georgia, of North Carolina; Timothy Coyle and his wife, Linda, of Atkinson, New Hampshire; and Donna Coyle of Boston, Massachusetts; her sister, Eileen Walsh of Andover, Massachusetts; her grandchildren, Carrie, Jonathan, and Christie; and her great-grandchildren, Linda, Cameron, and Sloane. Her love, strength, and generous spirit will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew her.
