Atkinson, NH: Lillian A. (White) Merrill, 98, a resident of Atkinson from 1960 until 2012, died June 15, 2017 at Hannah Duston Longterm Care Facility in Haverhill.

Born in Newburyport, daughter of the late George and Lillian (Buzzell) White, she was raised and educated in Atkinson and Seabrook, NH and graduated from Newburyport High School.

Mrs. Merrill retired from AT& T Technologies as an inspector in 1979 after twenty years of service and had also previously worked at HiTrone in Newburyport. She was a member of the Communication Workers of America and The Telephone Pioneers of America.

Formerly of Pope Road in Atkinson, Mrs. Merrill also lived in Clearwater, Florida before moving to Haverhill.

A devoted housewife and homemaker, Mrs. Merrill enjoyed shopping and stopping for coffee at Dunkin Donuts.

Predeceased by her husband of fifty five years, Malcolm Merrill in 1993, she is survived by two daughters, Joyce Baribeau of Seabrook, and Bertha Lambert and her husband Paul of Clearwater, Florida, two brothers, George White, Jr. of Boston and Millard White of Haverhill, a sister Georgette Whiteneck of Haverhill, six grandchildren, Nik Comeau, Bradford Comeau, Kimberly Ocean, Eleanor Sargent, Lu-Ann Stevens, and Joy Gilman, eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, William White, and Edward White, and sisters, Louise Sturgis, Oristella Ashford, Mary King and Roberta Faxon.

Relatives and friends are invited to a graveside service to be held on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 1 p.m. in Atkinson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to Merrimack Valley Hospice.
