Obituary

North Andover – Leo H. Lacroix, 97, died February 2, 2023 peacefully at the Ashland Farms Assisted Living.

Born February 8, 1925 in Lawrence, MA, he was the son of the late Leopold and Irene (Fortier) Lacroix.

Mr. Lacroix graduation Ed  from both Haverhill High School and Haverhill trade school.  He served in the US Navy during WWII.  He was a radio man on the USS Dallas Destroyer.   He was a member of the American Legion Post 34 in Plaistow.  He was a Master Electrician and his first job was wiring WHAV radio station in Haverhill MA.  He went on to work for Pope Machinery for many years.

He was married to the love of his life  Lois (Davis) Lacroix for 59 years.  She passed away in 2007.  They built their home in Plaistow where he remained until he moved into assisted living in March 2016.

He was very talented and handy including such things as home maintenance, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and auto mechanics.  People went to him for advice his entire adult life.

He will be greatly missed by his children Gerard Lacroix and wife Kristy of Newton, NH; James Lacroix of Franklin, MA; Susan Dimase, MD, of Hudson, MA; Jeanne Chivers and husband James of Hinsdale, MA; and Joan Tellier and husband David of Plaistow, NH; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren, one sister Margaret Ferlito of North Andover, MA; many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by four siblings Roland "Al") Lacroix, Gerard "Joe" Lacroix, Theresa Fici, and Antoinette Crepeau.

The family all got together at Ashland Farms on New Year's Eve Day to celebrate him.  He was able to connect with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren on that day.  It was a day to remember for all!

Family and friends may visit Friday February 17, 2023 from 4PM to 7PM at the Brookside Chapel and Funeral Home, 116 Main St. Plaistow, NH.

A funeral service will be held Saturday February 18, at 10AM in the chapel of the funeral home.

The family would like to thank Ashland Farms Assisted living for the love and care he received by the staff and residents.
