Haverhill: Leah J. (Cobb) Lucia, 95 a former longtime resident of Haverhill, died July 12, 2021 at Salemhaven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Salem, NH.
Born in Newton, NH, daughter of the late Walter and Nellie (Johnson) Cobb, she was raised and educated in Haverhill, MA. She graduated from Haverhill High School with the Class of 1943, where she was a cheerleader for the varsity football team, and went on to attend MacIntosh Business School.
She was employed first in the local shoe industry and later at Western Electric and Flowers by Steve but her primary and most important achievement was as a house wife and homemaker. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she enjoyed maintaining a warm and inviting home for her family.
Mrs. Lucia enjoyed bowling, playing tennis, trips to the beach and spending time outdoors, especially in her flower gardens. A resident of Haverhill for most of her life, she lived for eight years with her daughter, Nancy and her family in Hudson, NH, until her recent move to Salemhaven. She was a member of All Saints Parish of Haverhill and the former Saint Rita's Parish.
Predeceased in 2006 by her devoted husband of sixty-one years, Francis A. Lucia, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her son, Thomas A. Lucia of Haverhill, a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen A. and Sandra Lucia of Kingston, a daughter Barbara J. Harvey, of Haverhill, and wife of the late Donald Harvey , a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy L and Adam Daniels of Hudson, NH, six grandchildren; Heather (Harvey) Brown of Haverhill, Brooke Harvey-Gibbons of Lexington, Kate Lucia-Scott of Winthrop, ME, Meaghan Lucia-Yogeeswaran of San Carlos, CA, Logan Daniels and Aaron Daniels, both of Hudson, NH, four great-grandchildren; Matthew Brown, Emma Brown, Natalie Gibbons and Liam Gibbons, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Bill and Irvin Cobb and her sisters Evelyn Flanders and Marjorie Henderson.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her calling hours to be held on Friday, July 16, 2021 from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill. Her funeral will follow at 1 p.m. in funeral home and conclude with burial in Saint Patrick's Cemetery, Haverhill.
