Lawrence Thayer Gray, Jr., 67, better known as "Larry" of Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina died Monday December 4th, 2023 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Wilmington, NC, after an unexpected illness.

He was the husband of his sweetheart, Jeanne (Huberdeau) Gray, with whom he celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary this year.

Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, a son of the late Lawrence Gray, Sr., and Alice (Pacheco) Gray, he attended Lowell High School and graduated from the University of Lowell with a B.S. in mathematics.

Larry was a distinguished employee of the United States Postal Service (USPS) for over 35 years, retiring in 2011. In retirement he lived his dream of making many friends, golfing at every opportunity, bowling, and supporting various charitable organizations in his local community. Most recently Larry was a full-time caregiver for his mother.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his mother Alice Gray of Winter Haven FL, his brother Scott A. Gray, wife Aron of Winter Haven FL., along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Due to impending weather conditions, services will be postponed and scheduled at a later date.
