Obituary

Atkinson, NH: Lawrence H. "Larry" Love, Jr., 79, a resident of Atkinson for the past forty-six years, died March 9, 2020, at Birch Heights in Derry.

Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, son of the late Lawrence and Dorothy (Burke) Love, he was raised and educated in Tewksbury, graduating from Tewksbury High School with the Class of 1958.

Mr. Love served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army from 1961 until 1963 during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Berlin and was a recipient of the Army of Occupation Medal, The Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, a Marksman Medal, and a Marksman Bar. He was also a member of the Army National Guard from 1967 until his honorable discharge in 1993. He was employed for many years by Sears, Roebuck and Co. as a salesman and store manager of the automotive department in the Lowell Store. After his retirement Mr. Love was a well-respected employee at the Hannaford's Supermarket in Hampstead.

A member of Holy Angels Church of Saint Luke the Evangelist Parish in Plaistow for many years, Mr. Love enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, and working on his vehicles and was a fan of all New England Sports teams, especially the Boston Red Sox.

The husband of the late Priscilla A. (Moore) Love, who predeceased him in 2014 after forty-four years of marriage, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sons, Lawrence H. "Larry" Love, III and his wife Helen of Mount Tabor, NJ, Sean D. Love of Atkinson, and Jeff J. Love and his wife Meghan of Atkinson, two sisters, Carol Cullinan of Bradford, NH and Nancy Sierzego of South Hadley, MA six grandchildren, Kimberly, Charlie, Zoie, Zack, PJ and Henry and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours to be held on Monday, March 16, 2020 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH . His funeral service will take place on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home followed by military honors rendered by the U.S. Army.
