Contoocook, NH: Lawrence O. "Larry" Dube, 66, of Contoocook, NH and formerly of Raymond, NH died on November 5, 2015 at his home following a long illness.
Born in Haverhill, MA, son of the late John and Kathleen (Collins) Dube, he attended Saint James Grammar School and graduated from St. James High School with the Class of 1968. Larry went on to graduate from Bryant-McIntosh School of Aviation and Business in 1970.
In his younger years, Larry worked as a paper boy for the Haverhill Journal. Following his schooling, he was employed at John Hancock Co. and later as Assistant Manager and Traveling Manager for Calder Department Stores. For the past thirty eight years was employed as an engineer at Sanmina-Sci/Hadco Corporation and Nashua Circuits Inc. and since 2007 as the Principle Quality Engineer at Thermadyne Corporation in West Lebanon.
As a young man, Larry was a member of the Haverhill Boxing Club. He carried on his well-known family dynasty of boxing and was a Professional Lightweight Boxer. He was a licensed pilot and also enjoyed Jazz and playing the trumpet, cooking and streetcar racing in his 1967 Corvette. He had a longtime interest and took part in Haverhill political campaigns and was involved locally campaigning for the late President John F. Kennedy. He hosted well known wine parties and also enjoyed traveling, and trips to the beach, especially in the rain or during a thunderstorm where he enjoyed feasting on Tripoli Pizza. He was a great fan of Abbott and Costello and W.C.Fields movies the movie "Harvey" and the music of Tony Bennett.
He is survived by wife, Carolann Marsh, a son, Stephen Dube of Raleigh, North Carolina, two daughters, Laurie Wadiak and her husband Chris of Blairstown, New Jersey, and Kara I. Dube of Contoocook, a brother, Thomas Dube of Nashua, three grandchildren, Anna Marie Wadiak, Kathleen Wadiak, and Emily Magee, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, John Dube, and his sister, Kathleen Dube.
Relatives and friends may call on Monday, November 9, 2015 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill, MA. His funeral service will follow at 1:15 p.m. in the funeral home followed by burial in St. James Cemetery, Haverhill.
