Laura M.
Cartier
February 24, 1931 – February 4, 2023
Bradford, MA: Laura M. (Amirault) Cartier, 91, a lifelong resident of the Bradford section of Haverhill, died peacefully on February 4, 2023 at Ashland Farms in North Andover, surrounded by loving family.
Born in Haverhill, daughter of the late Robert and Alma (Gaudette) Amirault, she attended Sacred Hearts Grammar School, in Bradford, and was a member of the Saint James High School Class of 1949.
A lifelong member of Sacred Hearts Parish, Laura was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. There was nothing more important to her than family and she devoted her entire life creating a happy home! There was always a very special place in her heart for all fourteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
Laura was creative with a kind heart and soul which led her to volunteer her talents and time helping others. Until recently, she spent time knitting hats for the newborns at several local hospitals. For over thirty years she delivered seasonal homemade treats to the Steven Bennett home in Haverhill, she made baked goods for church events, she volunteered as a Junior Girl Scout leader in Bradford, and if anyone she knew was sick, she would make homemade bread and chicken soup for them.
Laura was often seen reading a book in her free time, she loved to read!
She also loved the arts and made numerous trips with her husband to NYC to take in the latest Broadway shows.
Predeceased in 2022 by her devoted husband of seventy years, John L. Cartier, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca A. and Joseph Giambaressi of Salem, NH, and Marie T. and Joseph Fay of Toledo, Ohio, sons and daughters-in-law, John M. and Carol Cartier of Kingston, NH, Paul M. and Kathryn Cartier of Rindge, NH, and Peter R. Cartier and his longtime loving companion Justine of Lawrence; fourteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by two sisters, Alice Abate and Lucy Amirault, and two brothers, Robert Amirault and Steven Michael Amirault.
Relatives and friends are invited to Laura's Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Sacred Hearts Church, Main St., Bradford, MA.
