Obituary

Atkinson, NH: Kevin J. Murphy, 68, a resident of Atkinson since 1996, died peacefully at home, on Tuesday, January 29, from natural causes.

Born in Boston, son of Phyllis (McAlice) Murphy and the late John Murphy, he was raised and educated in Methuen, and was a member of the first graduating class of Greater Lawrence Vocational and Technical High School in 1970.

Mr. Murphy was a Master Electrician for over forty years, and was licensed in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire. He was employed by the former Davis and Furber, Inc., Malden Mills of Lawrence, Solo Plastics and as a supervisor at Analog Devices of Wilmington, retiring six years ago.

A member of Saint Anne's Parish of Hampstead, he enjoyed cruises, traveling, spending time in Florida. He was a gentle and quiet man, devoted to his family, who loved and cared for them and will be missed by everyone who knew him.

He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his loving wife of forty-eight years, Diane (Letourneau) Murphy, his son Robert K. Murphy of South Lawrence, MA, a daughter and son-in-law, Sheila D. and Tim Roberts of East Hampstead, his mother, Phyllis (McAlice) Murphy, of Walpole, MA, three brothers, Jack Murphy of Belmont, MA, Paul Murphy of Methuen, Thomas Murphy and his longtime companion Arlene Weeks of Attleboro, MA, two sisters and a brother-in-law, Phyllis and John Stanovitch of Mansfield, MA and Patricia O'Mahoney of Walpole, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mr. Murphy's Calling Hours and Life Celebration to be held on Friday, February 1, 2019 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. Hs funeral will begin on Saturday at 8:45 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Saint Anne's Church, Emerson Avenue, Hampstead, NH. Burial will be in the spring in Atkinson Cemetery. To send a message of condolence to the family, please visit www.brooksidechapelfh.com .
