Haverhill: Kenneth H. Sulesky, 96, a native and lifelong resident of Haverhill, died Monday, April 22, 2019 at the Merrimack Valley Hospital.
The son of the late Thomas and Melissa (Burnell) Sulesky, he attended Haverhill schools. He was a 1941 graduate of Saint James High School, and played shortstop as a member of the Varsity Baseball Team. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a tail gunner on a B-29 during World War Two and was honorably discharged as a Corporal.
Mr. Sulesky was employed for forty-five years as a bookkeeper for Burns Auto Parts of Haverhill until his retirement, and was a longtime member of Saint James Parish, Am Vets Post #147 and The Wilbur M. Comeau Post of the American Legion of Haverhill. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and enjoyed going dancing with his wife Doris. He was also a devoted grandfather to his nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of fifty-three years, Doris A. (Comeau) Sulesky, three sons and two daughters-in-law, Kenneth H. Jr. and Twyla Sulesky of San Jose, CA, Thomas H. Sulesky of Corinna, ME., and Roger A. and Stephanie Sulesky of Haverhill, a daughter Brenda M. Boisselle and her fiancé George Kenney of Haverhill, nine grandchildren, Daniel Sulesky, Lori Sulesky, Ashley Sulesky, Kim (Sulesky) DeCosta, Adina Sulesky, Erika Thornhill, Nicholas Boisselle, Brandon Boisselle , and Adam Boisselle, seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Michael Sulesky, a sister Lorraine Wheeler and two brothers, Carl Sulesky and Donald Sulesky.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, April 25, 2019 from 10 a.m. until 12 Noon at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. His funeral service will follow at 12:15 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial with Military Honors will be held in Saint James Cemetery Haverhill.
