Ormond Beach, Florida: Kenneth C. Hayward of Ormond Beach, passed away on May 17, 2017 at the age of 83, after a sudden illness and subsequent stay at Florida Memorial Hospital. Daytona Fla.
He was born on February 4, 1934 in Lowell, Massachusetts son of the late Roger and Mabel E. (Anderson) Hayward. He proudly served his country in the Korean War as a member of the US Air Force and was honorably discharged after four years of service.
Kenneth then went on to work at Raytheon for many years and greatly contributed to building the Patriot Scud Buster Missiles, used to save lives during the Gulf War. He later retired to Florida with his wife, Dorothy. He was an active member and treasurer of his local VFW post in Daytona Beach . He was dedicated to his country and his family. He was a compassionate man, who for the past five years was devoted to the care of his wife.
He leaves behind his wife, Dorothy A. (Cross) Hayward and his four children: Donna Montalbano,of Methuen, MA, Sandra Hayward of Hampton, NH, Kenneth Hayward Jr. of New Smyrna, Florida, and Laurie Bramlitt of Brentwood, NH. He also leaves behind his five grandchildren - Sara Dunaj, Michael Schloth, Adam Montalbano, Amanda Bramlitt, Nicole Bramlitt and his two great-granddaughters, Alanna and Gwendolyn Dunaj. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends and many people whose lives he touched.
Relatives and friends may call on June 20, 2017 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m.at Brookside Chapel and Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Plaistow, NH. A graveside service will be held at 1p.m. in Lowell Cemetery.
