IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kenneth R.
Grant
July 22, 1941 – November 28, 2024
Kenneth R. Grant, 83, of Atkinson, NH, passed on Thursday, November 28, 2024. He was born on July 22, 1941, in Trenton, NJ to Kenneth and Marion (Bien) Grant.
Kenneth honorably served his country in the United States Navy, proud of the fact that he repaired radars on the F-4 Phantom jets at Naval Air Station Miramar in San Diego, CA – the location for today's Navy's Fighter Weapons School, aka Top Gun. Later Ken was a graduate of the New Jersey Institute of Technology, earning a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He built his own home in Atkinson, NH and worked as an electrical engineer in North Andover at Western Electric, AT&T Bell Labs, and Lucent Technologies. He was a motorcyclist, pilot and a consummate engineer and there wasn't a thing he couldn't fix – equally as adept at designing and repairing advanced electronics as he was at rebuilding automotive engines.
Kenneth was pre-deceased by his best friend and brother Robert Grant, lifelong partner and loving wife Carol A. (Pancko) Grant, and his son, Edward "Eddie" D. Grant. He is survived by son Paul M. Grant and his wife Lori of Pelham, NH, and grandchildren Sidney and Maverick.
Ken's was a lifetime of service to his family and community, supporting Atkinson as a member of Atkinson's Planning Board, Ambulance Study Committee, Town Disposal Study Committee, Fence Viewer, and Master Planning Committee. At the state level, he served on the Southern Rockingham Regional Planning Commission, in the NH State House as a State Representative, and on the Rockingham Planning Commission. When not working for his community, he volunteered with Atkinson's Scout Pack and Troop 95.
Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, from 4pm-6pm at the Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home 116 Main St. Plaistow, NH. His funeral service will follow at 6:30pm in the funeral home chapel.
