Plaistow – Karen Ernst Hoppler, 80, died Saturday, September 17, 2022, after a visit from beloved family.
Born June 4, 1942, in Galion, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Eliza (Hartman) Ernst.
Karen earned her bachelor's degree in elementary education from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. She was a passionate teacher of elementary children for 37 years, most of which was spent at Pollard Elementary School in Plaistow. She loved seeing the spark of learning in the children's eyes.
Karen was a person of great faith and was a lay minister at Holy Angels Catholic Church. Karen was a loving spirit who embraced her life fully. She and her husband were fortunate to fulfill their dream of travelling and were able to visit all 50 states, as well as many beautiful countries around the world. She enjoyed playing cards and board games, as well as getting together with friends. But, most of all, she absolutely loved spending time with her granddaughters.
She will be sadly missed, and lovingly remembered by her husband, Robert C. Hoppler, Jr. of Plaistow, NH; her daughter, Karla Colby and husband, Scott of Poinciana, FL; her son, Robert C. Hoppler, III and his Partner, Chris Chance of Durham, NH; her grandchildren, Angela, Kaitlyn, Jillian, Katie, Madison, Lauren, and Sasha; her great-granddaughter, Olivia; her sister, Kay Hallett and husband, Tom Hallett of Oak Harbor, Ohio; and, her brother-in-law, Henry "Lou" Hoppler of Adamstown, MD.
Relatives and friends are invited to Karen's memorial services to be held on Friday, September 23, 2022, with calling hours from 9-10:30 am at Brookside Chapel and Funeral Home, 116 Main St. Plaistow, NH, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at Holy Angels Church of St. Luke The Evangelist Parish, 8 Atkinson Depot Rd., Plaistow, NH.
