Plaistow, NH: Karen A. (Sveinbjornsson) Chyung, of Plaistow, died February 18, 2019 at Lawrence General Hospital.

Born in Summit, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Thorvaldur and Ruth (Hutchison) Sveinbjornsson. Karen was raised and educated in Plaistow and attended the Pollard School and graduated from Timberlane Regional High School, with the Class of 1982. She received her Bachelor's Degree from the University of New Hampshire in 1986 and worked as a Programmer at H.B.O. & Company of Lexington MA, and later at the Veteran's Administration Medical Center in West Roxbury.

A resident of Haverhill for several years, Karen was the wife of the late Rev. Peter Chyung, Pastor of the Grace United Methodist Church of Haverhill. They later relocated to Enfield, CT when he served as pastor of the United Methodist Church of Enfield and she returned to Plaistow in 2014. She was also a member of the Women's Association of the United Methodist Church. Karen enjoyed spending time on Facebook connecting with her relatives and friends. She was also interested in British history and documentaries and was devoted to her cat "Tiggie".

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her sister Dawn S. Greene of Plaistow, with whom she made her home, a niece Erin M. Greene and her fiancé Ryan Pettit of Boscawen, a nephew Charles F. Greene III, and several uncles, cousins, and aunts, especially Lois Bowers of Smyrna, DE.

Relatives and friends are invited to Karen's Life Celebration to be held on Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. A graveside service will be held on Friday March 1, 2019 at 1 p.m. in the Enfield Street Cemetery, Enfield CT. A reception will follow at the United Methodist Church of Enfield, 41 Brainard Rd.
