Largo, Florida: Karen Lynn (Huntoon) Chevalier, 58, a resident of Largo since 2017, died peacefully on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at her home, after a courageous battle with cancer, and surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Laconia, NH, daughter of Harlene (Howe) Huntoon and the late Bernard Huntoon, she was raised and educated in Bristol and graduated from Newfound High School in 1980. She received her Associates Degree in Accounting from New Hampshire Technical Institute and later completed courses to obtain her degree in Banking. Karen was employed as a teller for thirty years at the Franklin Savings Bank in Bristol. She lived in Bristol all of her life until moving to Largo three years ago.
Karen was accomplished at baking, and spent time walking the beach, collecting shells that she crafted into several creations. She enjoyed ice cream or a frappe….every night, and had great childhood memories of traveling with her parents. She was proud of the fact that she accomplished her retirement goal of moving to Florida with her husband Mark.
A devoted wife and mother, sister and daughter, Karen was eagerly awaiting the birth of her first grandchild, Marlow Quinn, whom arrived Monday, January 25th 2021. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of thirty-six years, Mark D. Chevalier, a son and daughter-in-law, Kevin M. and Amanda Chevalier of Boscawen, NH, a daughter Kendra A. Chevalier of Epping, her mother, Harlene (Howe) Huntoon of Laconia, NH, a brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Christine Huntoon of Gilford, NH, two sisters, Sandra and her husband Chester Walker,Jr. of Bristol, NH, and Patsy Matthews of Plymouth, a sister-in-law, Debra Huntoon of Florida, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews and several cousins and her loving and devoted Beagle "Misty". She was predeceased by her brother Dennis Huntoon.
Relatives and friends are invited to Karen's Life Celebration to be held on Thursday, January 28, 2021 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. Her burial will take place in Homeland Cemetery, Bristol in the spring. Family and friends who wish to make memorial donations are asked to consider The Alexandria Volunteer Firefighters Association, 158 Washburn Rd. South Alexandria, NH, or to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 25 Shattuck St., Boston, MA.
