Judith A.
Tilli
September 21, 1949 – June 24, 2025
Judith Ann (Capetanelis) Tilli, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at York Hospital in York, ME. She was 75 years old and a resident of Wells, ME.
Born in Haverhill, MA, on September 21, 1949, Judy was the daughter of the late Manuel and Marie (Mooshian) Capetanelis. She graduated from Haverhill High School in 1967 and went on to become a Licensed Practical Nurse through the Shepard Gill School of Practical Nursing in Boston. Throughout her life, Judy held various roles—all centered on helping and supporting others, reflecting her compassionate nature.
Judy had a creative and playful spirit. She was passionate about animals, her house plants, and the environment. She loved coloring, spoiling her granddogs, and relished playing card and board games with her family, especially Scrabble. She happily never embraced modern technology and was lovingly teased about it. She was always ready to hop in the car for a short or long drive. She cherished memories of going cross-country twice in an RV with her family, exploring new states and getting her kicks on Route 66. She enjoyed motorcycle rides with her honey and had an enduring love for Elvis Presley and The Mavericks.
Judy shared three decades with her significant other, Roland Goupil, before his passing. She is survived by her daughter Marianne Elizabeth Tilli-Pauling and son-in-law Nigel Tilli-Pauling; her grandchildren Katie Pauling and her husband David, and Sammy Pauling and partner Eve Bradley. She also leaves behind her siblings Doreen Halla, Michael Capetanelis, William Capetanelis and his wife Nancy; and her nieces and nephews: Joanne and Stephen Baker, Jason Halpin, Thomas and Brittany Capetanelis, Kevin Capetanelis, and Dean and Lisa Santamaria-Capetanelis. Judy is also survived by her former husband and dear friend, Joseph Tilli, her wonderful friends Dawn Stone and Fleurette Farinato. She will also be dearly missed by a large loving extended family and numerous beloved friends.
She was predeceased by her brother John Patrick Capetanelis and her nephew Tyler John Capetanelis.
Judy will be remembered for her warmth, humor, and fierce love for her family. Affectionately known as "the crazy lady," she brought joy and laughter to everyone who knew her. She made friends everywhere she went.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Humane Society or the American Red Cross, where Judy was a dedicated lifelong blood donor.
