Obituary

Hampstead, NH: Judith M. (Chandler) McCabe, 86, of Manchester and a former resident of Hampstead, Plaistow and Gilford, died October 18, 2020 at St. Teresa Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Manchester.

Born, raised and educated in Haverhill, daughter of the late Philip and Madeline (Downes) Chandler, she was a member of the Haverhill High School Class of 1951. She worked for several years as a secretary and accounts receivable clerk for New England Telephone and Telegraph and later as a secretary at Plaistow Bank and Trust. She was a member of Saint Christopher's Episcopal Church of Hampstead and also a longtime volunteer for the Hampstead Public Library.

Mrs. McCabe took great pride in her home that she decorated and maintained with great care. She enjoyed spending time with her children and her grandchildren, as well as traveling, shopping, and the time that she spent with her late husband at their second home in Gilford.

Predeceased by her husband Ronald McCabe in 2004, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her son and daughter-in law, Stephen T. and Victoria Allison of Merrimac, MA, three daughters, Cathryn (Allison) Thomopoulos and her husband Charles of Londonderry, Sandra (Allison) Cullinan and her wife Jo-Anne Manson of Manchester, NH, and Jennifer Allison and her husband Victor Cruz of Newburyport, MA, a brother, U.S. Navy Rear Admiral (RET.) David F. Chandler of Portsmouth RI,  a step-daughter and her husband Lisa Enaire and Vito Gorrasi of Woburn, MA, two step-sons and their wives, Mark and Christel McCabe of Groveland, MA, and Ross and Rita McCabe of Plaistow, ten grandchildren Allison Fontaine, Ashley Langlois, Kaitlyn Barbier, Stephen M. Allison, Iris Cullinan, Jacob Hubbard,  Jessica Enaire, Kimberly McCabe, Rebecca McCabe, and Stephanie McCabe and six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Philip H. Chandler.

Private family funeral services are taking place under the direction of Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH .
