Plaistow, NH: Judith A. (Chase) Sargent, 74 years old of Derry NH and a former longtime resident of Plaistow, Judith died on Saturday October 1st, her 50th wedding anniversary, at Pleasant Valley Healthcare in Derry.
Born in Porter, Maine, daughter of the late James and Lillian (Rice) Chase. She was educated in Porter, and Freedom NH. Mrs. Sargent worked as a clerk at the former Kings department store in Plaistow, Scandia Plastics, and as a Crossing Guard at the Pollard School in Plaistow.
She served the towns of Plaistow and Newton as an Animal Control Officer, and Registrar for the NH Department of Fish and Game, and as a matron for the Plaistow Police Department. Past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Plaistow Fish and Game, she was an avid outdoorswoman, and member of the Granite State Bowhunters Club. She enjoyed arts and crafts, rug hooking, doll collecting, country music, and motorcycling.
Predeceased by her husband Donald L. Sargent in 2015, she will be sadly missed, and lovingly remembered, by her three sons Daniel G. Sargent, and wife Tina, of Derry NH, Dennis G. Sargent and his wife Melissa, of Glendale Arizona, and Michael G. Sargent, and his fiancé Deanna Connors of Derry, a daughter Linda Danahy, of Plaistow, two sisters; Jane Chase, of Portland Maine, and Joan Howard, of Gorham Maine. Three grandchildren; Christopher, Jacob, and Hayley. Two great-granddaughters; Caylyn, and Brooke, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased James (Sonny) Chase.
A private family funeral service will be held in Plaistow cemetery in the spring, under the direction of Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, of Plaistow.
