Hampstead, NH: Juanita J. (Bethune) Randall, 88, a resident of the Town of Hampstead for sixty-seven years, died peacefully at her home on Sunday, November 28, 2021.
Born in Islesboro, Maine, the daughter of the late Jacob and Marion (Delaney) Bethune, she spent her childhood on the island and was educated in the local school system. She moved with her family to Chester, NH at the age of sixteen and graduated from Pinkerton Academy in 1950, where she was active in the school glee club and was a member of the girls' softball and basketball teams.
Mrs. Randall graduated from Salem (MA) Hospital School of Nursing and first worked as a registered nurse at Salem Hospital and later at the former Hale Hospital in Haverhill, MA and the former Alexander Eastman Hospital in Derry. Her passion was in geriatric care and at the time of her retirement, she was Director of Nursing at Birchwood Nursing Home in Derry.
A longtime member of the Hampstead Congregational Church, Mrs. Randall was an active member of the Hampstead Community. She was active in several town related associations and was always available to help anyone in the town that needed her help.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she enjoyed gardening and creating a warm and loving home for her family. She took great pride in and meticulous care of her lawn. She also enjoyed painting in watercolors, writing poetry, golfing, spending time at the beach, and cooking for her family.
Predeceased in 2017 by her devoted husband of sixty-three years, Maurice I. Randall, and her son-in-law George Stokinger in 2021, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her four daughters, Deborah S. Stokinger, Tammy L. Dingman and her husband Vernon, Jane R. Cresta and her husband Paul and Jody B. Ross and her husband Scott, all of Hampstead, a brother Jacob E. Bethune of Islesboro, Maine, ten grandchildren, Jason Stokinger, Elizabeth Wehmeyer, Noah,Tucker and Travis Dingman, Ryan Gallant, Samantha Bullman, Taylor Gallant Madison Cresta and Jack Ross, also seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by two brothers Stanley and Kenneth Bethune.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, December 2, 2021 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. Her funeral service will take place on Friday, December 3, 2021 at 10 a.m. in Hampstead Congregational Church, Main St., Hampstead. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Hampstead. The family has requested and it will be required that masks be worn by all those attending both the calling hours and the funeral services.
