Obituary

Londonderry, NH: Joseph W. Robinson, 95, a resident of Londonderry since 2017, and a former resident of Atkinson, NH and Haverhill, MA, died Thursday, June 2, 2022 at High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill, MA. Born, raised and educated in Haverhill, Massachusetts, son of the late Frank and Helen (LaFlamme) Robinson, he attended Haverhill High School and joined the U.S. Merchant Marine at the age of seventeen. A veteran of World War II, he also served honorably in the U. S. Army from 1945 until 1947 and was a recipient of the World War Two Victory Medal.

Joe was a licensed tractor-trailer driver and worked for local trucking companies including HUB of Haverhill. He was also a classic car enthusiast, spending many enjoyable hours in the barn with members of his family who shared his love of tinkering with automobile engines. In his later years he became passionate about collecting and assembling scaled model cars. He was a resident of Atkinson, NH from 1991 until moving to Londonderry five years ago and was an active member of the Salem Bible Church. He took great pride in caring for his lawns through the years and dedicated many hours providing lawn care for his church. Joe was a true gentleman, always respectful and good natured; someone everyone was happy to see.

He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his attentive and caring wife of thirty-one years, Norma (Robinson) (LaPierre) Robinson, a son and daughter-in-law Todd M. and Lela Robinson of Lynn, MA, a daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and David Tilton of Newmarket, NH, two step-daughters, Maureen (Paul) Allard of Goffstown, NH and Andrea (Keith) Corthell of Kingston, NH, a step-son, Steven (Elaine) LaPierre, of Washington Crossing, PA, four grandchildren, David Tilton III, Benjamin Tilton, Jason Robinson and Joslyn Robinson, two great-grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, Nicholas Allard, Kristen Allard, Benjamin Allard, Zachary Corthell, Jenny LaPierre and Melissa LaPierre, and three step-great-grandchildren. He also leaves a nephew, David Robinson of Plaistow, NH and a niece, Sharon Robinson Corthell of Haverhill. He was predeceased by his son, Joseph W. Robinson, Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours to be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. His funeral service will follow at 5:15 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial services with military honors will be held privately in Atkinson Cemetery. The family suggests that memorial donations be made to either Community Care Givers, 6 W. Broadway Unit 6, Derry, NH 03038 or Salem Bible Church, 11 Ermer Rd. Salem NH.
