Barrington – Joseph "Joe" R. Gittings, 36, passed away Saturday January 28, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.

Born September 23, 1986 in Newburyport, MA; he is the son of Eric and Corinne (Schwartz) Gittings.

Joe was a graduate of Sanborn Regional High School, class of 2004. He received an Associates degree in Automotive Technology from Wyotech while living in Daytona Beach, Florida. He most recently worked as a machinist at Turbocam in Barrington.

Joe was a nature lover and rugged outdoorsman, who enjoyed hiking, camping, and walking his Australian Shepherd Hadley. In his younger years he was an avid motocross racer, and loved anything with a motor. Some of the best times of his life were spent with dad at the motocross track; whether he was the one racing or spectating at other events all around the country.

Members of his family include his parents Eric and Corinne Gittings of East Kingston, NH; his siblings Matthew Gittings of East Kingston, NH; and Hallie Gallant and husband Peter of Newton, NH; his paternal grandmother "Nannie" Gladys Gittings Smith, his Godparents Gerry and Cindy Roy of Merrimac, MA; as well as many aunts,  uncles, cousins and friends.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Walter and Florence Schwartz, and his paternal grandfather Raymond Gittings.

A private ceremony will be held for family. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date this spring.
